Dr. David Cornell, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Cornell has developed his practice philosophy from 30 years of practicing urology. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he graduated from the University of Alabama and received his M.D. from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. His residency training was at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Cornell is certified by the American Board of Urology and recertified in 2005 and 2015. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is licensed in Georgia, Alabama, and California.

Upon completion of residency, he was in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama, and then joined Kaiser Permanente, where he continued his career until 2001, serving as the chief of urology. Dr. Cornell decided to leave managed care to found his own practice to provide the pinnacle of high-quality service and individualized and highly attentive care.

Dr. Cornell is an active staff member in the Department of Surgery, Urology Section at Northside as several outpatient surgery centers.
